Atman refers to the awakening of the soul. Awakening of the Soul would refer to the Soul ‘being asleep’. By identifying with the Ego the Soul thinks it is the Ego hence by becoming a facilitator of the knowledge you are constantly reflecting your Cosmic Soul’s voice. Your greatest growth comes from guiding others towards their awakening. Our intensive self reflection programs guides you closer towards serving your higher purpose.

Atman is part of the universal brahman, with which it can commune or even fuse. So fundamental was the atman deemed to be that certain circles identified it with brahman. Of the various systems (darshans) of Hindu thought, Vedanta is the one that is particularly concerned with the atman. These texts state that the core of every person’s self is not the body, nor the mind, nor the ego, but “Ātman”, which means “soul” or “self”. Atman is the spiritual essence in all creatures, their real innermost essential being. It is eternal, it is the essence, it is ageless.

What is the difference between Jiva and Atman? Jiva is individual consciousness – the ego identified self that limits itself to the mortal frame. Atman is Supreme/Divine consciousness – the expansive, all-inclusive consciousness that knows it is not limited to the human body. It is the eternal essence of the universe and the ultimate divine reality. It is the life source of all that has been, is and will be throughout the entire cosmos.

In this 4 session program, we work through the layers of  the Ego breaking through to the Jiva (your soul identified with its ego entity) and then we connect to Atman, the universal or cosmic consciousness. Each session is customised with a different process for transcending the Body, Mind, Emotions, Conscious, Sub Conscious and Unconscious levels of your being to help you connect with your Soul directly.

In this 4 week process we focus on:
The Practice of Self Observation through Silence, Pranayama & Meditation processes. It is recommended you complete one of our other 4 week programs first before challenging yourself on this intensive awakening of your soul program.

The Tantric Kundalini Awakening focuses on activating your kundalini energies channels from its root up to its crown for the purpose of awakening to your soul and the higher realms of consciousness.

Kundalini (Sanskrit kuṇḍalinī, कुण्डलिनी, “coiled one”), in the concept of Dharma, refers to a form of primal energy (or shakti) said to be located at the base of the spine. Different spiritual traditions teach methods of “awakening” kundalini for the purpose of reaching spiritual enlightenment and a range of supernormal powers. The concept of Kundalini is described as “the figure of a coiled female serpent—a serpent goddess not of “gross” but of “subtle” substance – which is to be thought of as residing in a torpid, slumbering state in a subtle center, the first of the seven, near the base of the spine: the aim of the yoga then being to rouse this serpent, lift her head, and bring her up a subtle nerve or channel of the spine to the so-called “thousand-petaled lotus” (Sahasrara) at the crown of the head…She, rising from the lowest to the highest lotus center, will pass through and wake the five between, and with each waking the psychology and personality of the practitioner will be altogether and fundamentally transformed.”

Kundalini awakening is said to result from deep meditation, and consequently enlightenment and bliss. However, as each individual is unique, Kundalini awakenings can happen through a variety of methods not limited to deep meditation. This awakening involves the Kundalini physically moving up the central channel to reach within the Sahasrara Chakra at the top of the head. Many systems of yoga focus on awakening Kundalini through meditation, pranayama breathing, the practice of asana and chanting of mantras. In physical terms, the Kundalini experience is frequently reported to be a feeling of electric current running along the spine.

This is a program that takes you on a journey to start opening up your energies and channel the energies towards Divine connecting to your inner self.

“From childhood we are trained to see, examine and verify things in the external world, but initiation, or receiving a mantra, is a step for seeing and looking within. It is not a religious ceremony. Do not confuse a mantra or meditation with religion; they are entirely different.

A mantra is a sound, a syllable, or a set of sounds. It is known not by its meaning, but by its vibrations. It provides a focus for the mind and helps one become aware of his or her own internal states. It is a way to understand one’s self and to coordinate one’s external and internal worlds.

The mantra helps the mind become one-pointed and slowly leads the student to a deep state of silence, to the Center of Consciousness within. It is a spiritual seed sown in the soil of the self. It is a therapeutic guide that leads one through various levels of being and finally to the unity between individual and Cosmic Consciousness.

The mantra is an important means on the path of Self-Enlightenment. You are encouraged to practice meditation regularly, to remember your mantra, and make it part of your life.

When meditating, use the mantra silently and consciously. At other times you can use it consciously or unconsciously. In time you fill find your mantra guiding you in daily life.” Swami Rama of the Himalayas.

Mantra is a linkage of our lower consciousness with the higher consciousness, which we call the Divine Consciousness or the Divine Life-Force. A mantra is a sound-unit, a thought-unit. It is a sound or series of sounds given to a Yoga student or disciple to remember constantly for a spiritual purpose. Initially there are two aspects to mantra that need to be understood. One aspect is that it is a symbolic combination forming a sound that has a particular effect on the mind, especially if it is repeated mentally, and the second aspect is its meaning. Each of the mantras has its own distinct sound vibration. In the Himalayan Tradition, we think of the mantras as though they were sonar forms of the forces of Divinity.

Each individual mind has its own composition. In the mind are stored imprints of many lifetimes. We call these imprints Samskaras. Whatever actions, desires and impulses that arise in us are activated from these imprints. The sum total of these imprints from the past constitutes our personalities. If we want to refine ourselves, we need to learn to change the pattern of these imprints. In this way, the mantra changes our very nature, making it more refined, gentler, quieter. Meditation with mantra is the experience of wordless prayer and of the subtlest in the sentiment and practice of devotion. This practice begins when one ceases to ‘do’ the mantra but only lets it arise from inner depths and listens to it internally.

Even the simple meditation with the breath and “So-Ham” (sounds like so hum) will bring about changes in you. They are not quite as effective as a personal mantra though. When a personal mantra, called a diksha (initiatory) or guru mantra, is given, it is like taking a drop from the universal mind of the Tradition and planting that drop, that seed, into the initiate mind. It is called initiation because, however small it might be, some form of energy is passed on down the lineage from disciple to disciple to the recipient.

How are mantras chosen in initiation? How can the initiator know which one is right for you when he or she may not know your name. The initiator is one who is learned in mantra science and also in aspects of human personality. The person who initiates you has a very pure, unclouded mind, and when in meditation, he can receive and then impart the mantra, which will come matched to your personality type. Both a mantra and meditation instruction are assigned according to the individual’s samskaras, spiritual needs and level of spiritual qualification (adhikara).

Because the process of initiation is a milestone in a student’s life, they are asked to purify themselves for at least a day prior to initiation. This is done by keeping to a diet of sattvic (pure) vegetarian foods, avoiding emotionally disturbing activities and cultivating serenity of mind. The student then comes to receive the mantra wearing clean clothes and having bathed. The student comes into the room where the initiator is in meditation. They meditate together briefly then the mantra is conferred. The teacher, through the Grace coming from the lineage of gurus, gives the mantra and the commitment to help the student grow spiritually.

After initiation, you keep your mantra in the mind at all times. The mantra is something internal to you. So while the whole world is bombarding you with disturbing impressions, there is something within you that remains your permanent focus from which you should not move. It takes time to practice and master it that way. It becomes a quiet friend. The mantra can be your door to meditation because it is the focus. The practice of mantra becomes the meditation. After the mantra is received, it is kept secret. Keep your mantra a secret and practice, practice, practice. The student is urged to maintain contact, not by letters or phone, but by sitting in meditation at a fixed time daily. The mantra becomes the seed from which the tree of your spirituality grows.

Tjaart Kruger, comes from the Himalayan Lineage of Swami Rama and Babaji and you are blessed to be initiated by him and the Grace that follows him. You are initiated into a Mantra of choice :

“Yantras give a pattern to energy. Since all cultures have these kinds of shapes, they resonate in our DNA when we see them. By creating a Yantra, one sits for hours absorbed in the energy of the particular deity they are working with. When one chants the corresponding Mantra, both hemispheres of the brain are activated, eventually creating a state of one pointedness, healing and transformation.”

“The Sri Yantra is a series of interlocking triangles with a perfect ratio of 3.14 or the divine number, Pi. It is thought that this ancient symbol was not intellectually constructed, but that it came to a yogi in deep meditation as a representation of the primordial sound, Aum. This symbol, along with sounds like Aum have incredible healing powers if you just know how to use them correctly.

Sri Yantra, and Ancient Divine Symbol of Sound

The Sri Yantra is an age old symbol – with an approximate origination date of over 5000 years ago – which is meant to heal our minds and hearts. If you know anything about energy healing or healing with sound, then you realize the importance of tuning into a particular vibratory rate in order to elevate the mind and body from its lower, less ideal states, such as those of sickness and depression. You need not suffer from these states of mind. They are illusions of the first class, and many of us have had them for so long that we forget that our natural state is one of joy, vibrant health and, bliss, even.

The Sri Yantra is a collection of 16 interlacing triangles around a bindu – which is a point of focus for the mind. Bindu literally means ‘point’ or ‘dot’ in the Sanskrit language. If you are using this as a meditation tool, the center point aims at bringing your awareness to a more and more singular point. If you are using the Sri Yantra as a point of contemplation, then you can imagine that the cascade of triangles within the lotus flower is at once a macrocosm and microcosm of the world you live in, with your perception as it is now. While some see Maya as the destructive display of illusion, or the separation of the Divine Mind from the egoic mind, more accurately, it is simple the creative nature of Creation trying to experience Itself. While Maya may keep the veils of true Divine experience out of our current perspective, it also offers a myriad of ways to get back to the Oneness, our true nature, as evidenced by the interlocking triangles in perfect distance from each subsequent set of triangles based on a Pi ratio. . .the creative play of Maya!

There are other places that this ratio exists. It is in nature, for example, and quite prolifically displayed. It is in nautilus shells, in the formation of leaves and petals of innumerable plants. The divine ratio shows up in ocean wave patterns, and you guessed it, sound. Divine sound oscillates at perfect ratios for our optimum health and recent studies in DNA prove that Divine Sound can even change our DNA!.

This new scientific study takes sound therapy out of the New Age pigeon hole it has been stuck in and brings it into mainstream science. The way scientists were able to change DNA was by using particular frequencies of sound, which are essentially energetic patterns, which then encode the DNA much like a computer programmer dictates how a software will work on your computer by creating a syntax which it recognizes. In fact, the team led by molecular biologist,Pjotr Garjajev, found that DNA responds to sound in the same way langauge is formed, and even has its own grammar rules! Apparently, our ‘junk’ DNA is actually highly programmable utilizing the right frequencies, such that illness can be healed and even super-human skills like clairvoyance, clairaudience and intense intuition can be programmed right into the molecular structure of human beings.”

Meditation is a practice in which an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefit or for the mind to simply acknowledge its content without becoming identified with that content, or as an end in itself.

The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices that includes techniques designed to promote relaxation, build internal energy or life force (qi, ki, prana, etc.) and develop compassion, love, patience, generosity and forgiveness. A particularly ambitious form of meditation aims at effortlessly sustained single-pointed concentration meant to enable its practitioner to enjoy an indestructible sense of well-being while engaging in any life activity.

The word meditation carries different meanings in different contexts. Meditation has been practiced since antiquity as a component of numerous religious traditions and beliefs. Meditation often involves an internal effort to self-regulate the mind in some way. Meditation is often used to clear the mind and ease many health concerns, such as high blood pressure, depression, and anxiety. It may be done sitting, or in an active way—for instance, Buddhist monks involve awareness in their day-to-day activities as a form of mind-training. Prayer beads or other ritual objects are commonly used during meditation in order to keep track of or remind the practitioner about some aspect of the training.

Meditation may involve generating an emotional state for the purpose of analyzing that state—such as anger, hatred, etc.—or cultivating a particular mental response to various phenomena, such as compassion. The term “meditation” can refer to the state itself, as well as to practices or techniques employed to cultivate the state. Meditation may also involve repeating a mantra and closing the eyes. The mantra is chosen based on its suitability to the individual meditator. Meditation has a calming effect and directs awareness inward until pure awareness is achieved, described as “being awake inside without being aware of anything except awareness itself.” In brief, there are dozens of specific styles of meditation practice, and many different types of activity commonly referred to as meditative practices….wikipedia
